The word producer gets thrown around a lot lately. It usually refers to people who design sounds or music around samples, beats and musical manipulations. Edgar Delambre falls into this category. Up until now, the Paris-based artist has limited his trade to advertising spots and short films. “Au Coeur des Banquises” literally means “At the heart of floes” or at the heart of a floating sheet of ice. This latest work from Delambre breaks away from ‘spot’ work to full length production. It’s glitchy and mysterious. Its accompanying video fits the theme, and has a “Twin Peaks” brand of uncertainty that further emphasizes the dark mood of this track.
Delambre is new to us, and the track came to us as a surprise. It was a pleasant surprise from which we hope to hear more.
