Chronic City – “Key Biscayne” ft. Henri Joel
The electro-pop duo, Chronic City, is based in Vienna, and enjoys collaborating with other musicians from all over. This bouncy number was recorded with Henri Joel from Henri Joel and the Harlequins. It will transport you to the beach (listen closely) and improve your mood–especially you folks in the northern latitudes who are just sick of winter,

To Kill A King – “Funeral”
from Cannibals with Cutlery
released 24 February
“Funeral” is the first single from Cannibals with Cutlery. The London-based indie pop band unleash wonderful harmonies complemented by bright, engaging melody in the vein of Local Natives. The video draws inspiration from the film ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ as its protagonist avoids ‘sitting in the box’ on his funeral day. Nice work on both counts. Directed by Jack King.

Wild Leaves
“To Be Free”
“Wind & Rain”
from Wind & Rain
out 26 March (pre-order here)
The members of Wild Leaves were raised in the mid-west and now find themselves in Brooklyn. This alternative folk act writes gripping, heartfelt tracks that are awash with reverb. You’d swear it was recorded in an old cathedral. Actually, it was recorded live to tape over three days in upstate New York. The title track plays out like the Mamas and Papas hanging with Fleet Foxes–it’s lovely. Get your free download for “To Be Free” here. The EP will be released in a limited press on 140 gram black vinyl (order here).
