Fri. Free Feat. : “Songs of Praise”

YM-SongsOfPraise-Artwork

T Smith and Drew Brown form Young Men, a post-rock DIY outfit from Chicago. Songs of Praise has lo-fi grunge feel, and is marked with repetitious chord changes that allow for riffs to pop off or droning melodies to undulate. It’s reminiscent of college radio from the early nineties, and the sounds made famous in the documentary, 1991: The Year Punk Broke. You can pick up a limited run cassette from The Branks Limited for $5 or download a free digital copy here.
