Panda Riot – “Black Pyramids”
from Northern Automatic Music
out 19 February on Saint Marie Records
“Black Pyramids” is a rhythmic dream pop/shoegaze hybrid that gains strength over its duration. This marks the third album (EP or LP) from the Chicago-based quartet.

MirrorsRailbird“Mirrors” (School of Seven Bells Remix)
originally released on Lucky (EP)
out 27 November 2012
On Railbird’s new EP, Sarah Pedinotti continues to show growth and range beyond her early days as an Alt. Americana artist years ago. The Brooklyn-based band continue to experiment with the pop genre, favoring noise pop. School of Seven Bells take the sputtery, Dirty Projectors’ sound of “Mirrors” and dream pop it up a bit. Check out the entire EP on Bandcamp.Railbird is a great live band, and we encourage you to see them when you can.

Ra Ra Riot – “Dance With Me”
from Beta Love
out 22 January 2013
Another ‘light’ pop release from Ra Ra Riot. More synth-driven pop with lots of rhythm, it’s pleasant and easy on the ears.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – “We No Who UR”
from Push the Sky Away
out February 2013
This quiet song is made more haunting when paired with this dark, shadow-filled video. Cave is brilliantly able to forge depth from a minimalist structure.
