Mr. Crumb – “Where Have You Been”
from Fun with Venison
released 26 April 2012
Christopher Crumb adopted a childhood nickname as his recording persona, and released Fun with Venison earlier this year. On this first full-length studio album, Mr. Crumb demonstrates a remarkable command of songwriting, penning tunes that balance influences of power pop, jazz, psychedelia, and euro-folk. Fun with Venison meanders like a jaunt through a city, taking in all of the sites and keenly observing all that happens along the way.

The Reed Fags – “Molly”
from Places to Hide In EP
out 18 January 2013
This indie rock foursome from Western Finland released their debut EP, Regret Cigarette, to much acclaim in their homeland. “Molly” is the first single from their next EP, Places to Hide. This bouncy indie rocker will surely expand their international reach and appeal, as it grooves along before exploding with guitar in the end.

Sunshine – “Arnprior”
from Sunshine
out 26 February 2013
The first taste from this Vancouver outfit blends fuzzed out guitars and reverb-soaked vocals, unleashing a hook-filled rocker. On their debut release, the quintet get a little help from some music heavyweights with contributions from Sune Rose Wagner of the Raveonettes, John Collins of the New Pornographers, Woodie Taylor of Morrissey and Hayz Fisher of The New Values. Follow Sunshine on Facebook.

Cheers…
