The Morning Mail: 08-DEC-12

The weather is grey and dreary here in Greenville this morning. Hopefully the weather is better where you are, and these tracks bring a little joy into your day. Get comfortable, put on your headphones and enjoy!

Beach Fossils – “Careless”
from Clash the Truth on Captured Tracks
out 19 February 2013
Are you ready for some jangly surf music? You can pre-order the vinyl release here.

The Pollies – “Something New”
from Where the Lies Begin
released 2 October 2012
“Something New” is a sweet southern pop-rock song with an easy feel. This sextet out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama recently performed on Daytrotter.

San Fermin – “Sonsick”
from San Fermin
out 12 February 2013
Sound spectacular, baroque pop with competing choruses  and soaring harmonies. San Fermin is the led by 23-year old composer, Ellis Ludwig-Leone out of Brooklyn. “Sonsick” plays out like a Dirty Projectors song played by chamber session musicians. It’s dynamic.

Sweet Baboo – “Let’s Go Swimming Wild”
from Ships
out April 2013
Sweet Baboo is Welsh singer-songwriter Stephen Black. “Let’s Go Swimming Wild” has a delightful melody and oddness that is not typical of most pop tunes. It straddles the line between power pop and indie weird.
