Good afternoon! We have new sights and sounds to consider from The Cellophane Flowers, Let ’em Riot, Ninetails, and Yellow Red Sparks.
The Cellophane Flowers – “Rock n Roll”
from Staring At The World
out 3 December
London-based quartet recorded their debut album earlier this year. It was produced by Dave Allen (The Cure, The Charlatans, Human League). “Rock n Roll” is an enchanting bit of indie pop with an experimental edge. It avoids tradition and drops big gobs and drips of sound in places.
Let ’em Riot – “Don’t Stop Running”
out 19 November
Alan Oakes is Let ’em Riot, a synth pop maven who draws off the foundation that New Order and Depeche Mode first laid down over three decades ago.
Ninetails – “Maybe We”
from Slept and Did Not Sleep
out 10 December on Superstar Destroyer
The opening to this song is a beautiful meandering piece loaded with atmosphere that melts away into eerie harmonies. Don’t close the door on your ‘best of list’ just yet. Ninetails play their first ever London show on the 29th of November at The Bull and Gate.
Yellow Red Sparks – “Monsters with Misdemeanors”
from Yellow Red Sparks
out 29 January 2013 on Org Music
Love the title of this song.Gripping indie pop with layers of guitar, violin, and subtle keys. Meanwhile, Joshua Hanson’s vocals crack as he yearns for his love.
