Vacation, return from vacation (which inevitably means playing catch up at work), and we’re backed up! Here are some choice pics from the old inbox:
alt-J – “Fitzpleasure”
from An Awesome Wave
out now (official US release is 9/18–but you can get it)
A spacey, post-dub step track that’s been remixed by the likes of David Sitek and The Internet of Odd Future.

Prison for Kids – “Low Fevers” (Single)
Based out of Los Angeles, Prison for Kids are Christopher Dreisbach (vox, bass, guitar) and Cesar Ochoa (guitar). “Low Fevers” is one of a series of singles released by the duo. It’s hazy sound is accentuated by languid notes from the lead guitar. Definitely one to load up onto the headphones for your super chill summer mix.
Conner Youngblood – “Gold”
on Sketches pt. 2
out later in 2012
“Gold” is the second release off of his forthcoming album Sketches pt. 2, due for release later this year. It’s a hazy combination of folk and fuzz that will easily get into your head. The Yale grad plans to drop a few more singles out before the LP, so keep your eyes and ears open.
Fotoshop – “Golden Chain”
The new single from Finnish musician, Jarno-Erik, is spacey, methodical, New Wave. Fotoshop’s sound is marked by elements of electro pop, dream pop, and shoegaze. “Golden Chain” is the second new single from Fotoshop, following “Worries”, which was released earlier this year.
Ian Koren – “La Perla del Sur”
Ian Koren is DYI type who performs in New York City. He’s working on a mixtape of material that will be out and freely available soon. “La Perla del Sur” sounds as though The Smithereens went lo-fi. Nice, hook-laden, indie pop that shows a lot of promise.
TEEPEE – “Time Meant Nothing” (Revera Session)
“Time Meant Nothing” is the first single release from TEEPEE in over a year. You order the single (a limited release) b/w a live recording of “Let’s Go All The Way” here. You can get a free digital copy via Bandcamp.
