Adam HillTwo Hands, Two Lips LP

available through Bandcamp

Hill exceptionally integrates folk stylings with modern pop sensibility. He’s a singer/songwriter who makes liberal use of samples and fills that aren’t traditionally folk. His palette of sound is rich and diverse, as he cites Townes Van Zandt, Dr. Dre, and Duke Ellington as influences. It’s a true joy to hear something that grabs you immediately. Clever lyrics and nifty arrangements make for great songwriting. Go to Bandcamp and listen to the entire album.

Craig Wedren and BABY to re-release “Baby” LP

After leaving the post-rock, alternative band, Shudder to Think, Craig Wedren needed a change. He tried to wipe the slate clean with the 2004 release of Baby, which drew from disco and glam rock. With rhythms propelled by infectious bass and synth grooves, blaring guitar riffs, and razor sharp compositions, Wedren emerged from his chrysalis ready to take flight and embark on a second career. The re-release is slated to drop on June 19 and the digital version will contain several unreleased songs and demos. It looks like Wedren’s prepared to ignite another disco rock craze with the re-release of this powerful recording.
