Some Sunday Considerations – 11.27.11

Bounty Island, Fiji

It’s an abbreviated post as we wrap up Thanksgiving weekend. Too much to do, and not enough time to blog! Such is life.  Some songs and some videos for today:

For Your Listening Pleasure

The first track off  Sharon Van Etten’s new album, Tramp, premiered this week on Pitchfork! Serpents has an all star cast of musicians with Aaron and Bryce Dessner of the National, The Walkmen’s Matt Barrick, Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, and Doveman’s Thomas Bartlett contributing.

I got all Madchester with my CD collection over the holiday. Lots of Stone Roses, and Charltans, but for some reason this track stuck out:

Paris AngelsPerfume (1990)

So when I heard Jethro Fox’s single, Before, I  loved it (naturally). It’s quite lush, bright and impressive, considering that Fox played all the instruments and supplied all of the accompanying vocals.

Videos, videos, videos…

This week’s videos are all from the inbox. Lots of new tracks to consider and we’ve linked each to the artists’ web sites for more information on each. Enjoy.
