Tyler Ramsey to release “The Valley Wind”

Band of Horses guitarist, Tyler Ramsey, will release his third solo LP, The Valley Wind on September 27 (Fat Possum). The Valley Wind is Ramsey’s first release since the critically acclaimed A Long Dream About Swimming Across The Sea in 2008. The Asheville, NC native received some help from band mate, Bill Reynolds, who produced and played bass on the album.

Ramsey’s melancholy vocal delivery and roots in Americana make for heartfelt music with staying power. He is an accomplished guitarist, who derives influence from finger pickers Leo Kottke and John Fahey, as well as country blues players, Mance Lipscomb and Mississippi John Hurt. The title track from his upcoming album recalls Harvest Moon-era Neil Young. It’s simply beautiful.
