Well Greenville, we have a rare treat this evening. Tim Kasher, the man behind Cursive and The Good Life, is coming to town in support of his new EP, Bigamy: More Songs from the Monogamy Sessions. Like its predecessor, The Game of Monogamy, Bigamy deals with the restlessness of adulthood.
Broken relationships, reconsideration, and regrets are themes that dominate the album, which is a step away from the typical fodder recorded by rock artists. Bigamy and The Game of Monogamy reflect Kasher’s maturation and the realities that dominate the life of a married guy in his thirties. Sometimes wry, sometimes biting, these albums are evidence of what occurs when an indie rocker “grows up.”
Catch Kasher at the Tipsy Teapot this evening. Opening acts include Aficianado and a special reunion of Greenville’s own: The Gospel Years. Doors open at 7:00 PM. See you there!
