On the Radar: Pallers

The ambient electropop of Pallers is gripping. Pallers are long-time friends, Henrik Martenson and Johan Angergard, who hail from the same town in Sweden.  The pair combine elements of electronica, down-tempo, trip hop, and 80’s synthpop to create atmospheric tracks where vocals are texture as much as they are lyrical expression. Their new LP, The Sea of Memories, is set to drop September 27 on Labrador Records.  It is one of those albums that stays on repeat and doesn’t stop until you awake from reverie, realizing that it has played a dozen times.

Regurgitator – Super Happy Fun Times Friends

Brisbane punks, Regurgitator, have thrown together a really fun summer album.  Super Happy Fun Times Friends has a little bit of everything with skits, hip hop tracks, and the punky edge for which these Aussies are renowned. Regurgitator has seven albums to their credit, and were featured in the Sounds Like Brisbane sampler we recommended back in March.  Pay what you want for this album on Bandcamp.

Consider these…

–Matt Bauer stopped by Laundromatinee this week. Videos and mp3s from the sessions area available.

–Captain’s Dead has outtakes from Nirvana’s Nevermind and the Replacements live at CBGB’s circa 1984.

–To Spotify or not to Spotify? Everyone is pushing it, but why? We found these articles interesting: CNN explains the advantages of Spotify and the Warner Music Group explains why Spotify works.

Twin Killers (Baton Rouge) new single, The Two Fridas, is available for 99 cents on Bandcamp.  It’s an epic track that’s full of powerful emotion.  Thanks to our man, Jeff Blinder for the tip. Have a listen:
