Fri. Free Feature: Motorama – “Alps”

Released in 2010, Alps is the debut LP from Russian band, Motorama. The material on Alps is inspired by late 70’s/early 80’s new wave and post punk.  If you were ever a fan of this era, Alps will make you nostalgic. It is marked by bright guitars, tight beats, and an undercurrent of synth.  Vladislav Parshindark’s dark, moody vocals are reminiscent of Ian Curtis (Joy Division). Despite the somber vocal delivery, the album is full of bouncy, dance-driven numbers that are instantly appealing.
