Beastie Boys Make Some Noise

It seems like forever since the Beastie Boys announced they were in the studio to record Hot Sauce Committee Part One. Unfortunately, delays related to Adam Yauch’s recent battle with salivary gland cancer set the project back nearly two years. Fast forward to now and the album has a name change (now Hot Sauce Committee Part Two), and is on tap for a May 3 release. MCA is reportedly cancer free, and the Beasties are moving forward full steam ahead. Early indications are that this recording will be fun and memorable.

The video for Make Some Noise premiered yesterday, featuring Beastie Boy wannabes from the old skool days: Elijah Wood as Ad Rock, Seth Rogen as Mike D., and Danny McBride as MCA.  It’s very much a tongue-in-cheek send up of the Beasties’ Licensed to Ill days.  For someone who’s followed their whole existence, this video also demonstrates the star power these boys from Brooklyn have generated. It’s Hollywood central with Will Ferrell, Chloe Sevigny, Jack Black, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Maya Rudolph, and too many others to mention appearing in this video.
