Penguins Kill Polar Bears – Vessels and Veins

There is something about a Scottish brogue. It strikes viscerally and evokes emotion. Penguins Kill Polar Bears (hereafter, PKPB) is yet another “post rock” band from Scotland in the vein of Frightened Rabbit, We Were Promised Jetpacks, and Glasvegas. PKPB favors the former two, but can veer off into shoegaze territory as the latter is wont to do.  Their new EP, Vessels and Veins, is splendid. The track, Between the Tides is the EP’s signature track. Other highlights include Lungs, Homebound,  Wish With Worry, and the closer, Something Old.
