On The Late Saluda River, Paloma forges a pure rock sound that’s rarely heard or promoted in this age of electronic whizz-bangery. There’s a bit of dirty southern rock in this Powder Springs, Georgia outfit, but there’s just as much hard nose NY and UK post punk influence bubbling through this six song EP. Highlights include: the Elvis Costello influenced, “Come Clean;” the bottom blues epic, “Run For It;” the subtle beauty of “Brush Your Hair;” and the keyboard heavy, “Don’t Have It In Me.”
