Indie Label Post Consumer releases 2012 Sampler: Features Death Songs and The Hand to Man Band

The indie label, Post Consumer, announces the release of their 2012 sampler. Notable tracks on the album come from Death Songs and The Hand to Man Band. We feature tracks from each in today’s post.

Death Songs is a solo project of Nick Delffs from Portland-based band, The Shaky Hands. The Death Songs EP was released late last year, and Delffs has just released a new music video for the song “Let This Body Go”.  The entire video was filmed in and around Boise, Idaho and it’s packed with quirky “road” moments.

The Post Consumer sampler also features a track from The Hand To Man Band. The four piece outfit features the legendary Mike Watt on bass, Thollem McDonas (Tsigoti) on piano, John Dieterich (Deerhoof) on guitar, and Tim Barnes on drums (Silver Jews). The result of their efforts is entitled, You Are Always on Our Minds. The experimental jazz-inspited, “First Shallows”, is the first preview of the album. It proves to be an enticing morsel, and we can get the rest on May 22.
