I am up to my eyeballs with grading and closing out the semester. That does not preclude me from being a pathetic “fan boy” for the Decemberists. So there, I admit to having a bias. I can’t wait for the King Is Dead to hit the local record store. Until now, I’ll depend on snippets like this:

Last week, I linked to an interview and performance of Colin Meloy’s recent interview at WFUV. Today, NPR posted a better link for that performance and interview here. By the way, I am a big fan, but I am not exactly tickled by the prospect of the Decemberists developing a Broadway musical.
The King Is Dead is available everywhere January 18. It’s a good thing I am very busy.
