Blogophilia 24 is the second “theme-based” mix in the Blogophilia series. You may or may not know that Blogophilia mixes are created by mixing songs posted to this blog and others to form a mix of songs that were recently released. The only other theme-based mix (Blogophilia 2) deviated from these basic rules by including songs that had American states, cities or places of significance in the title without attention to release date.
The general rules for this mix were to:
1) Find enough songs in 24 hours via music blogs and related sites to form a mix
2) Songs may not come from past reviews for Blogophilia mixes
3) Songs must be found within 24 hours or less
4) Songs should generally be new (released in 2010 or to be released in 2011)
Usually, it takes me about a month to make a Blogophilia mix, so this was quite a challenge. I have to admit that this idea came to me after downloading five or six songs that I thought were “mix-worthy” and then I wondered if I could make a mix with only 24 hours of review. Well, it happened. It was kind of fun, but I won’t do this again for awhile.
