Acrylics are from Brooklyn and feature Molly Shea and Jason Klauber, as their principle players. In 2008, they released the EP, All of the Fire. The single, Molly’s Vertigo (a personal fave) was released in 2009. And finally on January 25, 2011, the long-player, Lives and Treasures will be released. Shea’s vocals have a smoky, lounge singer quality, and she is backed by a hazy FM era sound that the Motels captured so well in the early 80s (note: I am not stating that Shea sounds like Martha Davis). This is a band that has flown under the radar a bit, and are ready to take a step up. Check out the new single and bonus from 2009:
